i have vented my stoc bov and have had no problems with anything being sucked into it. If you pop the hood and put your hand in front of the bov, there is always a constent flow of air comming out of the bov, even at an idle. very little air but its there. but it does spray a little bit of oil on the top of my hood, (which i have been told is normal, since the turbos are cooled w/ oil) not enough to feel it comming out, but i can see it on my hood, and i usually clean it monthy or so. the stock bov is lound imo. ive scared a few people next to me in convertables.

I do too (SSQV), but I'd say you methods of tuning your BOV is flawed, it should be tuned to vent pressure when you're no longer on the gas, so anything past 0 (Positive Manifold Pressure) should be vented to keep the turbos healthy, and waiting for the turbo to make max boost and then hits vacuum sounds like a bad idea to me... Even if it makes an ossomb sound, you might not have that sound for more than 10K Mi.

To me function comes first, looks, sound rice appeal whatever else, comes as a bonus in most cases or as a deturrent depending on what I'm going for... My Scoot hood's primary role is to vent the engine bay, and soon to give airflow to my new IC... and secondly it changes the look of the car...

Duh?

Why is it that a thread asking this question gets so many replies and views?

You mean to tell me, you don't hear mine when I am driving here in Texas.
You better check your hearing bro since I have gotten complaints from even outer space.

Look Talon, you have no justification whatsoever for calling me names like "hater". I suggest that you take another look at my post because I only asked a simply question.

And don't be a hypocrite. It seems that you are into telling others how to respond yet you obviously have a different set of standards for yourself because you state:

"Please just ignore threads you do not like. No one makes you reply."

and then you make a post resorting to name calling and a derogatory response to my question.

People like you who are into name calling and hypocrisy are certainly in no position to criticize or judge others!

The name calling and derogatory comments were started by you!

I'd say an apology is in order.

If you are not able to accept fault then I understand why you choose not to respond.

Knock this crap off now. An apology is NOT in order as this would have never started had you not posted in this thread, period.

Bottom line, if you aren't going to help the thread, don't post in the thread. End of story.

Let me get this straight, I post this question:

"Why is it that a thread asking this question gets so many replies and views?"

Talon calls me a "hater".

And you come down on me, and let Talon off the hook for name calling.

With all due respect, I'd say you are applying a set of standards that are discriminatory. You could have chosen to PM me with an explanation.

Did your question have any relevance to the thread at all? NO!

Could I have PM'd you? Yes. However, I didn't. Why? This is not the first time you (and others) have chosen to post useless crap in threads you don't deem "worthy" of the 3rd Gen section and it's going to stop.

If you want to have mature FD owners, why not lead by example? Quit acting like you are 12. Ever hear the saying "If you don't have anything good to say, don't say anything at all"?

Once again, your motive for posting in this thread was NOT to help. That's the problem.

Don't like it? Leave. We are sick of this immature crap going on and it's going to stop. If you want to help, quit being part of the problem.
