Lots of choices and I have done a lot of research on this topic as well. One thing that most people seam to "skip over" is piping. Piping is different for almost every fmic, some look"cool", some are a PITA, and some make keeping the battery in the engine bay a problem.
For a shame-less plug, I do have a blitz fmic which is highly coveted here on the forum for sale, I am getting it back from the polisher Monday. The sides and top are freshly polished and it will look better than new. Couple of bent fins, nothing that effects functionality and one small dent in the piping.

Well i was asking for unbiased opinions so i didnt Have to search through other threads, some people might have gone with one FMIC because they herd good things and then the unit didnt turn out to be what it should and they found out one that they didnt expect to be as good was better.... Plus im giving people something to talk about.... always a bonus... Thats what we are here for...

If you search the forums, the blitz fmic is probably the most sought-after fmic on the forums. The HKS unit is a very good fmic as well. I have heard mixed reviews on the greddy fmic, although those reviews pertained to their entry level model.

The blitz is actually discontinued, and trying to get ahold of one of them is getting harder, especially a full kit. It requires very little modification to install and does not require the bumper to be removed nor modified. The greddy and hks intercoolers require modification to the bumper though the greddy is more affordable.

searching would really answer your question. it has been covered alot.
But, I will chime in.
Best FMIC is very opinionated. It just depends on what your looking for or what "best" means.
If best means: best performing, ease of instal, and completion of kit
Then it is really hard to say because their are alot of FMIC kits that perform pretty much the same but vary in difficulty of installation and completion of the kit.
IMO best means: best performing, easiest to instal, complete kit, acceptable price, best looking
In that case I would say BLITZ FMIC. It performs as good if not better than the others in terms of flow. It does not take up the entire front mouth of the bumper which allows more airflow to the radiator than other FMIC's allow. The radiator still sits at a slight angle which creates a gap between the I/C and the radiator. It is a very complete kit. Just as hard as the rest to instal. Priced the same if not lower than the others, depending on where it's purchased. It also looks the best because it isn't all the way to the front of your bumper, it is very symmetrical in the piping, it relocates the fuse box to the center (which looks cool), and it sits slightly inside the engine bay underneath the front bumper rail instead of in-front of the bumper rail like most others.
