Best exhaust option?

I recently bought my FD and love it! I bought it from a buddy of mine, and I have done a lot of work on the car before I bought it. The car was a track car, had a bolt in cage, racing seats etc.
I am in the process of taking it back to a more road car as I daily drive it. My question is:

What is a good exhaust for these that isn't obnoxiously loud? I do not mind a decent sounding car but I am pretty sure what it has now is basically a straight pipe.

Thank you in advance!

There are a TON of exhaust choices for the FD. Also what one person thinks is loud is not loud to someone else.

If you run twins in sequential mode, that will take a lot of the low-end sound out.

I would recommend a highflow cat, that helps with some of the sound and also takes out a LOT of stink. A good high flow cat will work as well as a straight pipe.

For cat-back, the larger the muffler, the quieter the exhaust will be. It's just that simple. Greddy Power Extreme, Racing Beat, any Japanese exhaust with a large, oval muffler, Greddy SP-1 and SP-2....those are all good candidates.

Or, if you want to drive up to Pensacola, I'll give you a deal from my exhaust collection . I have a Power Extreme right now for the quiet side .

Pensacola is quite a distance lol

I was thinking of getting a Greddy but wasn't too sure if there was a better option out there.

Thanks

Tanabe medallion touring is pretty good sounding and muffles the sound well.

What's your budget? Most of the higher end Japanese exhaust with big muffler are pretty quiet, though they are on the more expensive side. RB dual and some GReddy are quiet and is on the cheaper side.

GReddy SP then Racing Beat dual tip, its the only exhausts you will see me run on a FD that is driven frequently. I usually run Single setups or Non-Sequential. If you are still sequential most exhausts are tolerable.

The RB dual tip looks great but is slightly louder than the Greddy SP, the tip on the SP is a little extreme for my tastes but it is still the exhaust i usually run due to how quiet it keeps the car.

Thanks! That helped a lot, I was thinking either of those two, but I think you convinced me to go with the greddy.

I ran the Greddy Power Extreme for several years. It's one of the best sounding exhausts for the FD (the SP version is not too different). The only down side is the size of the canister. If you lower the car a quite a bit, you will hit it on speed bumps and driveway curbs.

Does it really hang down that far? Do you have any pictures of it?

Thanks

Maybe this will help with someone giving me a suggestion. I want to be able to talk to my passenger while driving with the windows up, right now we have to yell at each other.

Thanks
