go to a muffler shop, have them customize you a 5" pipe from the dp back. should not cost more than $300.

seriously - a 3" open pipe from the midpipe back is you best option. 5" won't gain you anything - and could even hurt you because the gasses would slow down at the 3"-5" juncture. Also, do many shops have mandrel bending tools for 5" pipe?

Stock-class auto-xers often go this route because they can't touch the stock cats, but can put anything on the back end. I've seen one in person and with the stock cats and stock turbos, it was still quieter than most of the cars running downpipes.

Many shops should be able to put this together for not a lot of $$ - including the flange and hangers.

What about back pressure, if I had a modded dp and no cats would I loose hp, and would it be illegal"because its to loud" in my small city we have a few harrly Davidsons that rattle my windows but they get away with it.

The less back pressure, the better it is for turbo cars.

Does anyone have any opinion on the M2 single catback exhaust for an fd. I see lots of people with the duals but no one ever mentions anything about the single tip M2 exhaust. Any inputs about the exhaust will be greatly appreciated.

GReddy Jspec is the best hands down!

3 3/4" piping and a small straight N1 style canister....and here's the best part...it's only $450 at rx7.com!

the single is the same thing as the dual. no difference in performance/sound. my opinion....go with the dual. i HATE the way single exhausts look on an FD. kinda
