Below 1/2 tank...
Below a 1/2 a tank my car begins to cut out like it's sucking air through the gas line. It does this when i leave a light hard (slosh all the gas to the back) or when i make sharp quick left hand turns (all the gas to the right side). It gets very bad and very anoying at 1/4 tank. Any one else with this problem or a fix? TIA , Salty

This is a guess, but you might want to pull the fuel pump out of the tank and take a look at it. The "float" on the fuel pump may need to be replaced (not sure if just the specific part can be replaced OR whether a new fuel pump needs to be ordered). This would be the first place I would look.

I had similiar problem when road racing, it did not have this problem when it was new, I assumed it was just because the car is a lot faster now. I pulled the fuel tank and stuffed it with fuel cell foam, I found that the fuel tank baffle was broken inside the tank. I think that the broken baffle was the biggest cause of the fuel slosh problem, apparently this is a common problem. The fuel cell foam works great but you also have to change your fuel level sender, the stock float system can't work with the foam. You can also due without the fuel gauge and just adjust the level alert sensor up higher so it lights when you still have a 1/4 tank. I installed a fuel cell sender unit made by fuelsafe, bought from Pegasus, #2524-12. works well but it reads backwards, my car appears to make fuel as I drive, but you know exactly how much gas you have.

Some suggestions:
First thing is CHANGE THAT FUEL FILTER!
This is the most common cause of fuel starvation.
The next thing is do as the others have said, pull the cover off your fuel tank and take a look.
Check the baffles, make sure the low pressure filter, ie the baggie thing on the fuel pump, pickup isn't clogged, etc. Still have issues well join the club. I used to get starvation problems launching hard with a 1/3 of a tank and also on long left hand high G sweepers when on the track.
I have replaced the fuel pump with a Denso hi-flow jobbie but just for added safety I always run with at least a 1/2 tank. No problems since then.
Oh and DOMFD3S isn't the float thingie is just a float for the fuel level gauge sender?

i just replaced the filter a few months ago. I didn't know how to go about getting a view into the tank or inspecting this mysterious bag.. is it the silver circle under the rear mat?

Saltydog,
Yup under floor mat is the cover plate. Under the cover plate is the tank access port and the structure to which the fuel pump is mounted.
I stongly suggest before removing the tank access port you clean the area around the seal as debris *will* fall into the tank when you are removing the cover.

I had the exact same problem and this isn't your typical cornerning too hard mild hickup type starvation this is the fall flat on your face kind. You may need a new pump I put in a supra tt and now the problem is solved. Let me know what you discover and good luck.
