Bellhousing bolts

Can anyone tell me how many bolts are on your bellhousing? Im trying to get off my transmission so i can install a new clutch.

67 if i recall correctly including the starter bolts.

wow thats alot this is my first clutch soo i might be asking alot fo questions i hate to sound like a newb but i am. Ok to install my clutch do i need to remove the exhaust and the power plant frame right under the transmission.

Yes, the center section of the exhaust and the power plant frame need to come down.

Could i just remove the bolts from the transfer case going to the transmission and drop it from there?? and then put the clutch in or would i have to remove everything exhaust and all??

Transfer case??? Didn't know RX7's came in 4 wheel drive. mid pipe, ppf, drive shaft, starter, slave cyl. all that jazz comes off. Make sure you take the inspection panels off and rotate the flywheel to relaese the clutch from the fly wheel, and take out the bell housing bolts and install revearse of removal.

It is all in your service manual.

I don't think there are 67 bolts.

6 or 7 on the bell housing...but yes the exhaust and PPF need to come down as well.

Just to clarify what the others have said, you need to unbolt the PPF from the center to drop the tranny. You don't need to completely remove the PPF.

Basically, you need to remove/unbolt anything that keeps the transmission from coming away from the car.
