Arrow Before I buy this car I want to know if its a scam

Just wondering if this is a scam or if its just too good to be true, I was going to do buy it now and fly down before I gave up any money, any feed back would be great, Also if anyone could meet me down there to check it out, im into 2nd gens but I can't pass this up if its for real.
Thanks

Looks pretty low, I missed the buy now price..... Weird...

Some of the info looks a little embellished (spelling its early)...

Other then that it looks ok. Maybe e-mail him and ask more info if you need it.

I know I thought it was kinda goofy, I sent him an email to be a preapproved bidder, lets see if he replies. I included that I would fly down tomorrow with cash instead of a 30% deposit, that may scare him away

I'm still trying to figure out how you have Koni and RB spring all the way around.....Some new technology in the FD's that I don't know about? I just changed a buddy's FD's suspension to Tokico Illuminas and Tein springs all the way around....I counted 4 springs not 8.

I would say it is a scam. I saw a similar add a few months ago, and I emailed the guy because I wanted to talk to him. The contact number he gave me did not match the contact number that was on the add. Turns out the guy was in Bulgaria...Unfortunately, too good to be true...

Yeah, I would say definitely a scam. Look at the wheel and tire sizes- 11 inch wheels on the rear, but no rolled fenders, etc? AND, 275's mounted on those 11 inch wheels? I don't think so.

Scam!!!!

The scammer is using the "pre approved bidder status" to force you to email him first. When you do you will get the "I am out of the country" bullshit email that all the scammers use.

On a side note, I thought that car was legitimately for sale, on ebay, about 2 weeks ago

i agree with all the other members' points..
475 on twins
8g on 36k motor
etc

how can people use the ebay thing to scam anyway? i thouht ebay guaranteed up to 20,000??

anyway don't buy it until you see the car in person, screw buying it out of town if you can't see it.

This car has a pearl white paint job like no other (painted 6 months ago).
Not to mention a pearl white A/C condenser, power steering loop, and oil cooler... nice overspray.

The wheels on this baby are 3 peace OZ racing wheels. 17x8 in front and 17x11 in the rear( painted pearl white to match the car ).
As someone else stated, there's no way that rear wheel is 11" wide. Look at the footprint. That rear tire is probably a P255.

wrapped with Falken tires all around(215/40/17 in front & 275/40/17in the rear).
Obviously, he spared no expense... but P215s? WTF???

Motor is a wild Street Port ( Done by a Mazda Technician )
Since when does Mazda street port remans? And why did the car need a new engine with only 36k on the odometer?

13BTT with stock turbo housing bigger compressor and faster bearings where added.
Riiiiight...

Custom made inner front mount intercooler.
Or in other words, a standard SMIC...

This motor releases its uneeded boost via not just one but two greedy blow off valves, which hooks up to the Greedy Air Filter.
Wow, that's a lot of greedy parts.

The Exhaust System is complements of Racing Beat
So Racing Beat donated it?

Cosmetics on the car via Knightsports front and side skirts, with a Erubini Showgun wing.
Read: I have no taste.

Suspension consists of Koni Fully Adjustable Shocks, Along with racing beat Springs and all New Rubber Bushing by Suspension Techniques.
Suspension Techniques doesn't make bushings for the FD.

Brakes consists of Front slotted Rotors and painted red 99 J-spec calipers.
Read: I painted my stock calipers and call them JDM because they came on Japanese FDs also.

This car has Dynoed out at @ 475 hp.
Wow... 403 RWHP with stock twins. Very impressive.

I say B.S. ...He lowered his BIN price. If the deal was really legit he wouldn't have to lower the BIN price. That FD could easily sell for $15k-$20k, if it were legit that is. Low miles and all. But the 475rwhp also gave it away as a scam.

When I saw that I knew it was a scam. Just wondering why it took 10 posts down for someone to notice that.

Angry This is a SCAM!

Ok, guys here's the deal. I have been searching for a White RX-7 for a while. This one I had seen on RotaryTrader for $24.5K. The difference is that the Rotary trader advertisement has a phone number. I live in Miami, FL; about 45 minutes away. So I decided to call the number to see if I can swing by to check out the car. Guess what?
It is a fraud. The owner is still looking for $24.5 firm. His aol account has been compromised and the hacker is using his email account and his posting to get a quick 30% of $8,300. The owner asked that I spread the word before someone gets burned.
You know it is bad enough that it is a fraud...adding insult to injury they have to plau with our dreams and use RX-7s to do the fraud. As for as I am concerned these are the lowest of the low. These people need to be brought to justice for the near heart attack they caused me (..36,000 mi for $8.300..I am still recovering).

You have to be careful about white cars.

If you want to repaint a car with a color that best hides slight imperfections, rust, scaling, bondo, etc., you generally choose white. It's one of the older tricks in the book. If the car is sketchy already and has oversprayed white paint, I'd steer clear...

Take care,
Shad

Ya, my friend was in Iraq where he purchased a 3rd gen from ebay. Sure enough he was scammed out of like 6 grand. You can always tell those auctions that are too fishy, i see a huge amount of em. They run for every sports car, rx-7s, supras, so on. One big thing to do is to always email the seller twice! Most of the scammers have an automated email set up so if you get the exact same email twice back you know its some bullshit. Beside i wouldnt buy a car off ebay unless i had personally spoke with the seller and had gone to test drive and do a compression check on the car myself.

Hi guys, I read all the posts after I asked him some questions because I WAS interested in the car but here is his reply:

Hello and thank you for contacting me. I will tell you a few words about the car:
First of all the car is in perfect condition and looks just like in the pictures.
You can view more pictures here: http://www.geocities.com/cuba69422/mazda/mazdar7.html
It is in immaculate condition, has no scratches on and never involved in any accident. The motor runs perfect and has a clean title.
The total price for this car is $8,300 and I am not interested in any kind of trade.
I want to sell the car fast because during our holidays my wife suffered a accident in
the mountains and need a complicate surgery in Germany. The doctors
force me to pay as soon as possible and my wife's life is more important than the car so this is the reason for selling it.
For payment, I'll like to use an eBay service, so we'll be both protected.
If you want to buy and not only bidding, I will wait your answer.
Thanks
