I've seen a few setups like that. I know a buddy that's got one right now. Once properly tuned, he should be good for low to mid 11s. I've seen so many FDs with SMIC and FMIC and either way, the FDs have kicked butt. It's an age old debate of which IC to go with.

is that the 99 spec bumper reinforcement? Crap it has the plate holder molded into it as well!? BTW how much did RP charge you for the R & R. I was going to do this as well, including sending the engine to Rob and the single turbo afterwards. Which single did you get...wait don't tell me...the apexi rx6 right-that's the one I was going to get!

Yeah, i know the debate is there. Im in the process of decideing which route im going to go also. I just had never seen a single turbo with a SMIC. But now i have =). Have fun with it!

Yeah, a lot of thought went into deciding what IC would go into the car. I'm still a bit unsure about the cooling capacity of the GReddy I got, but RP assures me that it's more than sufficient for my application.
I didn't feel like I needed the FMIC for two reasons - 1) I autoX a fair amount and it'll be fine (arguably better) for that and I'll use it on the street. Rarely to drag.
2) I live in holy hell in the summertime, and I'm too much of a pansy to have my A/C condenser turned into a glorified wall-hanging. The FMIC would've required it to be almost on its side. Not good...unless I'm planning a crash diet in August via sweating.
As far as the turbo goes, it *is* an RX6. After reading around, I thought it'd also be best for street/autoX, though one of the t04 bros. would've worked as well. RP had the A'Pexi.
The '99 bumper does have the rebar molded in as well. That's a real PITA if you want the rebar and the BC remolded. I'm with you on the ugly plate-holder though. Gotta have a plate up there, so why not I guess.
I'm not good on my terminology here. R&R meaning labor? I'll just break it down in total briefly -
Pineapple street port rebuild was ~$3500. RP's damage, parts and all, should come in at around $11K, maybe a little more. Not sure yet. Paint job will be in the neighborhood of $5K (true blasberry - doorjambs and all- did *not* remove electrical to do all of engine bay though. Too scared of gremlins after reassembly. I'll live with the somewhat tacky color difference). At least it's MB as it is.

To be honest with you, I'm not sure what kind of bar it is. Came with the car, as did a pretty nice suspension setup.
Of course the car also came with bad coolant seals
But, I'm past that, $20K in, and looking forward to a pretty sweet ride in the very near future.

you dont need a front mount IC for single!!! actually are twins put out more heat that a tuned single setup. so actually you could run a stock IC if the boost is under 8psi but what is the point of that!!! fmic are very nice but you dont need it to go single IMO. I have the Large pettit and I know it can handle a T-78 turbo with no problem at all.

R&R is remove and reinstall. I am going single as well, also with the rx6. I have the same greddy IC, but I am going to ditch it since it won't clear my mazdaspeed replica hood, and go with the apex GT IC. What blowoff valve is it that you have?
