Battery box question

hey guys im doing a battery relocation to my trunk. I have looked on summit at battery boxes and dont like the look of them and want to do my own battery box but am wondering a few thing. First of all I am wondering what has to be done to it to make it legal so wether it has to be DOT certified of what. If anyone has built their own battery box or knows the specs to make it legal let me know. I work at a metal fabrication shop so the actual building will be no problem. Thanks alot everyone

I believe you need a sealed battery in an enclosed box. I just finished my trunk relocate last night. I used an optima red top if that helps at all. Adam at rx7 specialists in Calgary could probably help you out as well, I know he sells battery relocation kits.

Hope this helps. And this is a Summit full install kit. It sits very nicely still and the black matches nicely with the rest of the black interior
