Try looking at the taylor battery kit. It comes with everything you need and is only around $80. I bought one off of Summitt.

The Summit kit with the 2 gauge wiring is more than sufficient unless you have some outrageous stereo system. Most OEM battery wiring is 2 gauge. I think Summits is around $50. Look at moconnor's thread on the topic.

Why don't you just order the correct wire off of the internet?? Sounds like a much better way to do things than some "hobo" method that could later cause a fire.. Not to mention wire is usually cheaper if you look around online anyways than what your would have paid at Best Buy for the same (or worse quality) wire.

I will also make the point this should not necessarily be a "budget" project. It is often done badly and does nothing but lead to problems later. Now, I am not saying you have to go out and buy the most expensive products to perform a battery relocation, BUT I would buy QUALITY wiring, terminals, breaker (this one is kinda important) and connections to do this. Go too cheap here, or try and rush through the install and you will create nothing but headaches for yourself later.

i often use welder wire. Go to a welding supply shop and ask for your wire, it is cheaper than stereo wire and much more stronger, it is made to lay on the shops floor with lifts running over it, it is good stuff but a bit less flexible than the expensive audio wire.

Most car audio shops carry the wire you would need. On the other hand if you wanted to hack up a set of jumper cables to do a the relocation then yes it would work.

+1 on welding supply shops. Audio shops will charge you out the azz for simple stuff like wire, connectors, etc.

Thumbs up

You guys are looking in the wrong place, go to pick n pull (Cali junkyard) look for late 90's european cars Audi, MB, BMW, Volvo their cars are OEM trunk battery location. The gauge is very good and super insulated (talk about germany made cars).

All for $4 bucks each - no matter what length you grab but of course the longer the better on your part.
