ball park figure for FD
Hello,
This is my first post and i was just wonder whats the cost of buying and maintaning a FD? I see them for sale from 12k-20k and then i know that you have to do a few reliability mods. Just wondering the cost because i plan on getting one sooner or later. Ive been reading on this forun for awhile now and been trying to figure this out but never could put a number on it. Pref the cost of a FD that is in good condition. Thanks.

hard to say - depends on the car. It's nearly impossible to put a dollar figure on it.
Mine was near mint with low miles. In the two years I owned it, I drove it about 4000 miles and invested about $2000, granted, not all of that was maintenance (actually, most of it wasn't).
If you find one in good shape that has been taken good care of, and then *you* take good care of it, it's not too bad. If you find one that isn't... well, I hope you have a good paying job. It's smart to have about $2-3K on hand (cash or credit) at any one time when you have an FD to cover the cost of any unexpected problems.

Just look up what people say they've broken, and then go to one of the sponsors' shops to see the price. For labor, expect to pay ~$75+/hr unless you learn to do it yourself.
