ball joint grease amount

hey guys, i changed out my boots today and i put the same amount of grease back into it was what was in the old boots but it didn't really fill it full. like just around the sides. is it suppose to be pretty much full so when the boot compresses it squeezes out the stem?

i just fill the boot as much as it will take and put and grease on the ball joint itself then install the boot and wipe off the excess. so to answer your question...... yes

Ok thx for the reply. I put a clip on one of them already so instead of taking it back off I will buy a needle attachment for a grease gun and shoot it down the side of the stem.

IMO grease has a two-fold purpose, lubrication and keeping dirt and moisture out. Keep it full. I use the needle attachment and refill the pillow-***** occasionally as well. Just a little, may 'sweat' alittle over time, but wipes up easily and no one looks there anyway.
