BAD STARTER??? OR FLOODED, Timing
I broke a Alternator belt, actually it broke half way length wise and kept the engine for turning over too much tension
I have replac3ed both belts but cant get it start now.
It just spin slowly for a while but then the starter wont turn it at all...click. I am thinking the starter is bad??
I tried hooking the car up with jumper cables to my other car to make sure there was enough juice in case it was the battery...same thing.
I had thought it was flooded...( uponb removale of the plugs it didn seem to have any strong gas smell ) so after changing the plugs 7 & 9s ( my car is stock ) still the same thing
It just seem to turn really Reallllly slow....or is it flooded.
New to this Rotary stuff could I have thrown something off with the broken belt...timing ignition sequ......

Did you try turning it over with the plugs removed? Should turn over pretty fast as there will be no compression.
It is very easy to remove your starter on the FD, you don't even need to get completely under the car. Take it off and take it to a starter / alternator shop to get tested.
Mine pulled 300 amps while clamped in a vice!! No wonder my battery didn't seem to have enough juice to run it. Cost me about $170 CDN to get it rebuilt.

Doesn't sound like the usual flooding problem to me. Most flooded engines still turn over really well, just don't start.
And since it still wouldn't start with the life support from the other car, I'd say it more than likely is the starter. Autozone (do you have those in FL?) tests them for free.

OK I tried another battery directly connected to the car ...same thing.
The parts Guy at the dealer doesnt think its the starter because its turning...I'm going to getthe starter tested
I was just wondering about timing ?? how is this done or set and could this be off and the car is not firing properly??? due to the belt breaking??
