Getting a code for this sensor, I know aftermarket rails delete this. Which leaves the question does it have an adverse affects on driving if it's bad?

It is for hot starts. If the fuel gets too hot, it engages the fuel pressure solenoid, which cuts vacuum to the regulator after startup, raising fuel pressure

Thank you! So in all reality it shouldn't cause problems such as hesitations or bucking?

I don't think so. You may want to review the shop manual. I think it's main purpose is bumping fuel pressure on hot starts as Arghx said.

Also, most likely the wiring is bad or the connector is bad, the sensors are really hardy.

Do a resistance test of the sensor per the fsm. Also do a continuity test from the wires back to the ecu.

Whilst on the subject of this sensor, I,ve removed this sensor so there's nothing plugged into the connector plug. Will this have any adverse effect on the running of the car? I've got a PFC but the car is off the road at the moment and im not is a position to start the engine just yet.
