Backfiring when warming up

Heyo,

When I fire up the engine to warm it up for a drive, the exhaust starts to backfire. When the engine is warmed up it stops backfiring. WTF ay!

The backfiring is annoying. I can hear the backfiring more than the engine's idle. A friend of mine says the exhaust could be blocked causing it to backfire but this may not be the case.

Anyone have any ideas why it backfires when warming up?????

When was the last time you changed your spark plugs? regularly changing your plugs can eliminate this should fix your problem. Use 9's all the way around.

Mine does it too. I have full exhaust though. I also have M2 ECU so probably running a little rich.

Also, in the morning when it's cold you'll run a little rich as well.

I don't think you should worry.

I have the same problem, I even replaced my exhaust from the manifold back. I know im running rich, although I haven't been able to find out anything i can do about it... My exhaust will *pop* quietly and also gets red hot... I smell gas in my engine bay and even felt around, on the left side of the engine I had a smell of gas on my hands.

You have got bigger probelms then your exaust, you have a fuel leak. DO NOT DRIVE YOUR CAR AGAIN UNTIL YOU FIX IT. The most comon thing is your FPD. Fix it otherwise your engine WILL catch on fire.
