back up way to roll up windows???
hey everybody..while im waiting on a new window switch (drivers side) i was wondering if there was another way to roll the window up. i was cleaning my contacts and shut the door while the switch was dangling there...and i smashed it..im an ***...if you guys can help i would appreciate it...thanks
I guess you could remove the door panel, pull the window off of the track, and manually pull it up. As in, put one hand on either side of the glass, squeeze and pull up.
I don't even know if thats possible, and you might be able to do it with it still on the track. Just a thought...

NO--there isn't. I parted an FD this year, and disassembled the doors. It's a HUGE HUGE HUGE pain in the *** to take the window internals out of the car. WAIT FOR THE SWITCH. You risk either a) bending the door itself (seriously) or b) shattering the window. Borrow a garage or ghetto rig some clear film from home depot.

Look at the wires on the switch.
You should know this already, but if the contacts get hot or if you smell something, then stop IMMEDIATELY.
OK...
Short the RED wire with the WHITE w/ BLUE stripe wire.
If nothing happens, then
Short the GREEN wire with the BLACK wire first, and short the first two wires again.
Let's hope I can read a wiring diagram.
[edit]By "short", I mean connect (i.e. with a small piece of INSULATED wire).

Couldn't you just take the wires that go to the switch and touch the ground wire to the postive wire(should be two one for up one, for down) and the window will go up. Right?
I haven't tried it myself but I think hotwiring it would get it up for you if its stuck down....
Just my .02
edit: Crap he beat me to it!

Why would you wait when it's a no-brainer to connect the circuit. Jonkski spelled it out for you and I double checked his work. Black is the ground, green should be grounded to black, or chasis, and the red should be connected to the white blue wire. Up she goes.

I tried the jumpers listed above but since I couldn't find any voltage on any of the wires it didn't work. This is why I have another post asking for a wiring diagram so I can back trace and find out where the voltage is getting lost.
