back into an fd

I just got back into an fd today! I'm so glad to have one back! Used to own a 93 vr R1 with 33k original miles that got totaled in an accident (not my fault). Well anyways, I bought a cym R1 today with 42k original miles and will be on the forums much more often now. Got it for 17k... good deal? Its pretty close to stock (compared to my last one). It has BBS wheels, carbon fiber hood, defi gauges, hks intake, apexi exhaust, trust intercooler, hks bov, and a turbo timer.

Its been a little over two years now... way too long! Had an 05 SRT4 ACR and an 06 Evo 9 in the meantime. The SRT had power but fwd sucked and the Evo was fun but costed me too much with the payment and insurance. The RX7 is was more fun to drive anyways! Oh, and I will post pics in a few days when I get a chance to take some... it rained yesterday and I've been busy today.

Yep! I had met the old owner a few times and had just happen to run across this one on the web and had to get it! Seemed like he always took great care of it and I had it inspected by a rotary specialist before I bought it... car checked out ok and the compression numbers were great!

I saw this car listed on Autotrader for months with the internet special price of 19k which I thought was a decent price. At 17k I think you did great and I'm very surprised it lasted as long as it did especially in CA.

Once it gets in your system the FD is a hard car to shake I'm always amazed at the # of people that get another one after driving some pretty nice cars. Best of luck with it

I want to get the stock oem hood but they are hard to come by and a grip to buy new... thought about either a oem style carbon fiber hood or there is also a company that makes a yellow carbon fiber oem style hood, but I'm not too sure how that would look?
