Question back again with that #51 code

ok a few weeks ago i posted a thread about a #51 code and was told a few good bits of info, i have done all the things like resetting the ecu, new fuel pump relay, testing the relay, new wire linking the relay to 1k terminal on the ecu, ive even gone as far as getting another ecu, but all this was to no good, the problem is still there. i have ran out of things to try now, please please please someone tell me there is something else i have missed, cheers phil.

The fuel pump relay changes the voltage to the fuel ump from 9v to 12v depending on boost and load. I would just wire the fuel pump to constant 12v with some relays and 10 guage wire. The point of the relay is to possible make less fuel pump noise under cruise and to help it last longer, but it isn't needed.

i have just wired up the fuel pump to a constant 12v, it did make the pump louder but after resetting the ecu the #51 code was still there and i am still in limp mode. what now, i am all ready to give up on the car, i know its potential but it really racks me off, not getting anywhere and its such a small simple thing. anyone got any more ideas.

Unless you have a programmable ECU, you need the relay to work.

You need to check the wiring to the ECU from the relay.

ive only got the stock ecu, i have put an extra wire going from the relay to the 1k terminal on the ecu i think it is a white and blue one, thats the only wire right, the relay is clicking when i take it out and put it back in with the ignition on so thats ok i think, that is the only wire isnt it.

The ECU sets a code only when it sees an open circuit or a short to ground. So when you installed the "extra" wire did you disconect the orignal blue/white (1k) wire at both ends? So if it's storted to ground won't reset the code?

And of course you reset the ECU after cutting the wire. Right?
