In awe.
How many people with FD's have been stopped by people just for them to compliment your car or ask questions about it?
Today I was stopped at the gat eto my base, by the cop he wanted to know about the car, where to get one, tried to tell me if I disconnected the battery to reset the ecu it would be faster, I was like whatever dude (yes I know about limp mode, but my car isn't in it)
Then wehn I was getting a sticker for the car to be able to be driven on base a guy was questioning me about it asking if it was a 98', funny how people really have no idea about the 7.
I really was nice, and surprised though, never had a car that people would ask about.
what are your stories

Back in the 7 life again
Its going to happen, its a rare car and one of the top eschelon (spelling) jap sports cars. Id rather have people who are generally interested ask questions than a 16yo in a 5.0 try and race me at every light.

ahhh yes one of the enjoyments of having an fd
everytime i take the fd out, i get at least one compliment and i also get many many stares and points..mostly from teenagers and such but other people on the road also respect the car.
like one time i was at a light and this guy came in a mazdaspeed protege and he honked at me telling me what a nice ride i have. he also asked me what i've done so far and how much boost im running, he was cool, he didnt say lets race cause my car is faster.. he just said, ok see you around and left. thats always cool.

This past weekend I was gridding up for a Porsche DE event at Texas Motorsports Ranch, along with 20 other beautiful Porsche GT2s, GT3s, 911s, etc. And whose car had the crowd around it asking questions and taking pictures? My mostly-stock 11 year old red FD. And it embarassed more than a few of those cars on the track too!

Stuck in Afghanistan
I remember one time my car was overheating so I was sitting on the side of the road waiting for it to cool down, waxing it at the same time to be productive and multiple people would slow down and comment on the car and I'm not just talking young people either a pair of middle aged women in a sebring convertable stopped and commented on it too.

a homeless person complimented me
well check out this story, it surprised me too:
i get a few compliments as well around my area, but this one morning this homeless person not only complimented my car but was very knowledgeable!
i was gassing up in the morning at a local chevron gas station and a homeless man came up to my window and asked for some change. i gave him what change i had in my pocket. afterwards he said nice car and all and murmurred "wankel". i didn't understand at him first, and i thought he was trying to guess what kind of car i was driving. so i say "it's a mazda". he then says " i know" and repeats himself "does it have a wankel engine". after he repeated himself i then realized he was trying to say "wankel" as in the inventor of the rotary engine, so then after understanding him i said "oh yes your right, its a wankel engine.
he said he can tell its a rotary because of how it sounded ( i have a downpipe and dual n1s). i'm not saying all homeless people are dumb, btw i'm just assuming he's homeless because he's been hanging out at the local chevron station for this last week now. actually after i told that story to some of my friends, a lot of people got on me talking about how a lot of homeless people are educated and just unfortunate.

I have the looking back thing all the time, especially around dusk, the brilliant black from the rear just looks so to me, something about the curves and the headlights blending in. I love FDs so much.

ah....... i love feel good threads
When I picked up my FD my friend was driving my FC back and we both stopped at a gas station.
A woman then asked what type of car it was (refering to my FD).
I said these two are both rx-7s (pointing to both my FC and FD).............she said "I like the black one".
That actually kind of hurt as my FC is a lot cleaner, better paint, faster, and doesn't create a smoke cloud
That woman thought my shitty FD was better than my nice FC
oh well........ guess women like the curves too

I had an old man tell me that there is a secret injector that injected antifreeze into the combustion chamber in the very back. And that mazda did it to pass emissions. I wasnt even sure what to say to this guy, so i just stood there nodding my head hoping he would leave asap. As he was walking about he keep saying how he knows these things and i should trust him.

i dunno bout you guys but i think the fd is the ugliest car ive seen ... but strangely at the same time its the most beautiful car .. some angles it dont look too good but at other angles its perfect .. thats why i love my car .. she gives me headaches .. dont run too good right now .. but i would never trade her for any other car .. i dont care bout how fast it is .. its rare .. and not many cars can compare to it in the looks department .. and yes i talk to my car after a long day of school and im sitting through a long *** lecture .. i come outta class see my car from the back .. cause she got *** and i tell my car .. "do you miss me? cause ive missed you" .. hehe i know im a dork but hey .. thats the effect my car has on me

Everyday, do I not only have people stare or ask me questions, i get people that want to race me. When i know it's not worth my time i don't, but every once in a while you get a good challenge, and that's always a blast....especially when you beat them I absolutly LOVE my FD.
