avcr boost controller - part 2

Ok, so I took the boost sensor apart, cleaned it up (thanks for teh idea ISUposs) and put it back together with some sealant.

It was getting a bad voltage reading before but the voltage seems correct now. But it still is off from the PFC. Here are some tests I did.

Connect the avcr and boost gauge together with a mighty vac and applied vac to check the avcr accuracy. It was spot on, exaclty matched the boost gauge reading at 10, 15, and 20 inches vac.

This was done withe the key set to the on position but the car not running. Tommorrow I will test it with the car running.

I was also going to test it against the PFC but the PFC seems to not activly read boost withough the engine on, no matter what vac I applied it read -50. I'll test it with the engine on tomorrw too. Here is a thead I started on that deal:https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...hreadid=251387

My take is that it must be an electrical issue if it matches the gauge when in the on position but get off when the engine is actually running.

-or-

Maybe the amount off is the amount I am seeing on the pfc when the engine is off, maybe this is the absolute pressure that gets offset for the relative pressure reading and so my avcr is not making that compensation.... i can try to test that theory tomorrow too.

Damn I'm good

Is your PFC reading from the stock map sensor?

yes, pfc is reading from stock sensor, did more tests today and the pfc and avcr still do not match...and the amount they are off is not the amount i see on the pfc when the engien is off...im confused about the whole thing...

I noticed my PFC read boost a lil differently too, but wasnt really too worried about it, I just figured maybe because of where the MAP sensor is and where the AVC-R pressure sensor is... they arent too different but ill jump in it tomorrow so I can post exactly what mine reads, Oh and I only noticed they read differently at idle so thats vac I guess, becuz I dont have a hand pump...

It did though make me wonder about tuning the AVC-R versus the PFC becuz I was always hitting fuel/ign cut & thats why I got the AVC-R...
