Did some searching but only found very old threads.
Is there a source for rebuilt FD air pumps? They are available new from Mazda for $1000+ (PN #N3A3-13-810) but that is a little rich for me.
My first one siezed dramatically and my current used one is starting to make an unpleasant noise. I could buy yet another used one but ideally I'd like rebuilt.

buy another used one and leave it unplugged. It will act as an idler until you plug it back in for whatever inspection you need it for. Practically 0 wear on the pump while retaining its presence....
I think you just had bad luck with the used ones. Air pumps rarely go bad unless abused (left out in the rain or something crazy) and used ones are a dime a dozen.
Get another used one and call it a day.

Yeah - I guess I have just been unlucky there. The rest of the car has been pretty solid (well, solid for an FD).
I want to have one because my car idles like crap without it both on the stock ECU and with the PFC - and I am too lazy to tune the idle on the PFC.
