autometer water temp gauge.

Im not sure mine is accurate or not...
While i was warming up the car today and my water temp gauge reading was weird...
temp needle didn't rise smooth.. it just JUMped to 160-180F
now im wondering.. this gauge is accurate or not...
Does urs do that?

depends on where you installed the sender in relation to the thermostat. it also depends on your definition of "jumped". if it jumped instantaneously then yes, there is a problem with your gauge (likely a short in your wiring) but if it rose rapidly over the course of a few minutes then no, this is just the thermostat opening and warming up your sender.

yep, like he said, i have a greddy and it does the same thing, your gauge is correct. i start from 30 c to about 70 in 4-5 seconds

Yep, I'd bet any money the sender is mounted downstream of the thermostat.
