Autometer A/F Gauge??

I'm planning on getting an auto meter air fuel gauge. I know it will be NO where near as accurate as a wideband but will it be at least useful to see where Im at right now?? I got the car from someone that suppousely had already remapped the ECU. It seems to be running perfect (maybe a tad rich) but thats the FD normality.

PS: Im also doing it a bit for looks

Appreciate any input THANKS

Only when your engine is at the point that it might puke out

They will be accurate when you are at 14.7 air/fuel ratio. So just before your motor goes boom you will have an accurate reading.

The only good it will do is to show that you are in closed-loop operation at cruise -- it will bounce around 14.7. Under WOT, it's not even worth having.

The only A/F gauge that's worth anything is the Greddy one because it comes with it's own 4-wire o2 sensor.

Besides, if you have an M2 or Pettit ecu and the "approved" mods, you will be fine. Run it at a dyno with a PROPERLY WORKING wideband setup to verify you're ok.

It just so happens that I have one for sale! The Greddy that is. I'll take $150 if someone is interested, shipped.

Even that Greddy one isnt that accurate. I have heard that Greddy themselves recomends against tuning your car with it. A 4-wire sensor still isnt wide-band, you need 5 wires to be a true wide-band that you can tune with.

i have an Apex'i turbo timer with the a/f reading built in...and I find it very useful. Maybe its not accurate, but at least if i know im reading 10.1 under full boost all the time, If i see a 11.2 or 12.1 i know something is wrong.

Heh, how many miles on the sensor and what face does it have (black, white, or silver)?

Heh, we had a debate about this on that thread last week....

All I can say to that is my mechanic has tuned his car with the Greddy gauge on the road exclusively. This was with a T-78 and now 99-twins.

Actually I used it for about 1-2 weeks when I was rebuilding last year and decided to just go for the FJO.

I just kind of forgot about it.

Actually, that would be pretty useless as well, since it doesn't read below 12.1:1. All of your WOT tuning will be below that so.....

I have a DEFI D-gauge for sale.
It is electronic. There is about 2000 miles on it. Black face, amber backlite, so it is close to the stock gauges in look.

I'll take 100 shipped.
