Autometer electrical gauge quick question

Hey guys, I am about to put in an electrical autometer gauge. I am just wondering if I can ground the light bulb onto the ground that was for the gauge itself?

It's not as simple as running one sid eof the bulb to ground. The third gen is a bit strange like that. The best thing to do is to run speaker wire to the ashtray light bulb wires and splice in to both, then use one conductor of the wire to tie into the black, and one to tie into the white. It won't matter which goes to which.

Just for consensus, I used the ashtray light as well.
