automatic starter removal

Starter went dead and needed to replace it. Did the bolts to get the starter loose now my problem is getting it out. The starter is huge and i can't seem to figure out how to get it out. Anyone with some advice?

Any luck yet? You'll find you have to turn it to angle that wide-*** plate section down thru the front crossmember/A-arm area. I remember doing it once and after having twisted and pulled and yanked and cursed for 20 minutes and finally just giving up and nearly weeped in frustration as it just sat there, the damned thing FELL out and damned near broke my nose and teeth! And after all that, it turned out the starter wasn't bad! Auggggggggggggggghhhh!

It might help to pull the TB inlet and bring it out from the top - dunno on that, haven't worked on many automatics.

I see you're in Pensacola - let me know if you need a hand or advice.

It comes out the bottom. You just need to manuver it out of there. There isn't much room on autos.
