One F'n PISSED FD owner
Yea well everything has its price and i guess that having an FD means there are gunna be F***ING HATERS. Whenn people decide they need to mess with your **** for no better reason then ***** and giggles it really gets me goin. The same goes for ***** thieves too who think that because they see it, its theirs for the taking. And yes i know this is life but i just need to vent
WELL,
In a pretty decent suburban town, I was chillin by my gfs and she was havin a party. People are in and out all night to have cigs. Just so Happens that one of my friends spots two kids who were in the front yard (young, probably16-17) one of which had a long visible pole (I KNOW why now). They had been up to something and then ABORTED their mission because of all the attention and people so nearby. My friend confronts them to see what was up, they claimed they were looking for there friends party but didnt know which house it was,yea FN right. Now my friend was a girl so shes all like oblivious and they ended up having a car parked a few ft away. Now two of my guy friends walk up and these two kids are like tryin to show the girl sumthing in their car. All she sees is some bricks and a cinder block and immediately shes just like "get the F*ck outta here" They quickly break because they were lil kids and yada yada.
So the SECOND i hear about this lil event im OUTTTT the door. No one is out there anymore and I check out the FD to make sure everything is ok. It was about 1:30am when this is happening too. Ive never had ANY problems in this area for the 8 months my gf has lived there and i believe what happend was random and these punks just saw my car. But i checked the car over and pretty much every other car that was parked outside of the house too. Everything was clean...just some punk kids tryin to join a party or so. NEVER the less I moved a little bit of the party to the front room with a BIG front picture window. PERFECT, if these kids come back I'LL know. Few hrs pass and i think its pretty safe so i call it a night.
Morning comes and i go out to start the car to go home...thinking that was a good night...put the car into gear..slowly get the car rollin..get a slight bump in the car the second i first moved and BAM the whole front right of the car SLAMS to the ground! O----M-----G, i hesitantly walk around and see my whole wheel off wedged between all my suspension and the fender. The Fender is ALL messed up and bent outward, suspension and caliper/rotor all scraped and gashed since it landed right on the concrete. Now alot of the damaged i asessed later because within a spilt second i was at the neighbors door looking for a floor jack. No way i was gunna mess with the stock jack with NO clearence to work with. No go with the jack and i do my best to ever so tightly kick the stock jack into place and got the car off the ground. what a nightmare i am enduring
So i start looking at damage and i got pretty bad fender damage, mad gouges to the rim, tie rod messed up, boot ripped, sway bar bracket i believe is also REALLY bent. Got some more lugs and got it back together. Now i drove this sucker home and my first impressions were that it didnt seem to bad. I also however didnt go over 30 mph the whole way home. I didnt have any noises or anything too abnormal in the steering. The frotn susp does have over 120K so there was already a lot of slop in it. Ive been working all day pissed about it and i have yet to look at the car since. Im gunna be getting it inspected ASAP.
What is kind of Ironic is that i had Wheel locks on the car about 2 weeks ago untill i brought the car in for new tires, and which point they informed me that the wheel locks werent the right type for the FD rims and they replaced them with basic acorn lugs. Well this is what i get for not putting the new locks on ASAP.
CLIFF NOTES:
FD was parked outside, some kids had the plan to steal my stock rims ala the cinder block method. They saw some ppl and left my car before getting to into the job. The had enough time to just remove all 5 lugs on my front passenger wheel. I heard of these suspicious kids with a pole (aka a breaker bar) and went out to check my ride. I did a full 360 sweep and overlook to what appeared to be good. It was after 1:30 am so it was dark and i didnt spot the missing lug nuts. Came walking out the next morning to the car (never had the passenger sight in view as it was the opposite side from my path to the car. I probably would have noticed the lugs since it was day now but i didnt think about last night and about doing another 360 sweep. Got the car moving about a foot or two and the car came crashing down suspesiom first into the street. blah blah blah blah blah
AHHHHH im so mad, $500 deductable here we come...for NOTHING
dont worry guys im gunna take pics tommorow...err today and post em up. TAKE CARE OF YOUR FD's....and 7s in general

Dude, sorry to hear/read what happened. I can only imagine how you felt as soon as that happened. That is some wickedly bad luck to have punks like those come your way. Stay ultra vigilant but not neccesarily paranoid I guess would be the best take from all this...

I won't let go
DUDE!!!
That sucks!!!
It never fails to amaze me how idiotic kids can be. And for the record, I never dreamed of doing that when I was a kid.
I'd say double check everything out and take it to an alignment place. If you think everything's ok, they may be able to confirm whether that's the case or not.

That sucks, i know how you feel about the haters too. I am still in highschool (paid for the fd myself) and you wouldnt imagine how many people hate on my car. I have caught TWO people trying to break into my car and steal it. I installed a kill switch recently, so hopefully that will help alot. Maybe time for some new aftermarket fenders though?

Sorry to here this dude. I hate to hear about things like this. Like stated before, It makes me even more parranoid, than I am already about my car. I actually like driving a beater sometimes, for the fact I don't have to worry about the FD sitting outside all by it self.

thanks for all the back guys, it actually does help. Im DEF taking the car to get checked/fixed/upgraded(if i can). This happened in Arlington Heights near Arlington Park. Now it aint Bradyville but there typically isnt any cinderblocking cars anywhere nearby. I understand it happens and i can accept it.
On the upside it i look at my car and fender from a certain angle it kind looks flared(i mean it is) but it looks like it was always like that. But thats only ONE angle that my FD looks widebody, heh. Pics coming when i get back from school.
Thanks guys, Stay up

Kind of like FD and other car guys going after a stock supra tt fuel pump...stock wheels to us are a cheap and great upgrade to other vehicles.
TpCpLaYa,
Sad to hear that happen...
