automatic to manual swap
there is a automatic 93 twin turbo that has been rebuilt about 10k miles ago for sale and my friend was a bit interested in it swapping it to a manual transmission . just wondering what exactly needs to go into and about how much money to swap from a automatic to a 5 speed manual.

And allot of sweat! Cost....it all depends if you plan to get new or a combination of new/used parts.....probably under $2200.00.
You should first give it a compression test, does not matter if the owner says 10K on the motor....it only takes one slip to mess it up! Good luck on your project if you decide to take it.

There is really no wiring that needs to be done. You can use all the auto harnesses without hacking them and the car will run flawless. The only you will need to do if you are **** is wire in the reverse lights and the clutch switch. Let me repeat you can use ALL the stock auto harnesses and a stock ecu and the car will run perfect.(assuming there are no other issues).
Trans-$350.00
Aftermarket Clutch-$200-300.00
Stock Flywheel-$50.00
New Slave cylinder-$60.00
New Clutch Master-$90.00
CLutch master to slave lines-$100.00
5 speed driveshaft-$50.00
Shifter and shift ****-$40.00
Shift boot-$50.00
Brake and CLutch Pedals-$300.00
5 speed diff flange(if you are fine keeping the 3.90 gears)$50.00
The car no longer being the slowest vehicle on the road 0-30......Priceless. (calm down auto guys I am just having fun.).
Whole swap will likely run you around $1000-1500.00 depending on the deals you can find, the clutch/brake pedals are without a doubt the toughest thing to find.
If you keep the auto harnesses you have to jumper to pins on the largest auto trans connector, it takes all of 3 minutes to do. Also you will want to take the speed sensor out of the auto trans and install it in the manual trans because the tach will not work without out. If the P,R,N, D,2,1 bothers you on the gauges you can simply buy a set of used gauges from a manual car and switch it out. The swap is so simple and doing it the way I describe basically eliminates custom wiring and cuts down on the room for error. Swap can be knocked out in a weekend or one day if you really know the car well.

Probably $600-800.00 depending if the car was already modded. If the car still had the original pre-cat, cat, exhaust it would make the process a little more difficult as sometimes it is near impossible to remove those items if they are original and never been removed before, this is obviously a rare situation.

I am running rx7store downpipe (soon to be knightsports or mazdaspeed) and an arc titanium exhaust. Still on the stock midpipe. The auto trans was rebuilt last summer, so I would assume that the bolts should be easier to get out then one that was never touched. I was thinking about installing a rmagic titanium midpipe, apexi pfc and port the wastegate all at the same time. Figure might as well get it all done at once. Anyways, we will be in touch towards fall, $600 to $800 is a pretty solid deal, I usually deal exclusively with Pettit but I feel like he would be really overpriced on this install.

I recently added a APEXI POWER FC to my car, which was converted to Manual, and have encountered some problems. My odometer indicator no longer shows up, and my car is turning off like crazy and I am hearing a beeping noise, which I never heard before.
Anyone know for certain using the existing auto harness works with power fc upgrade?
