Auto Twin Rats Nest?

I did a few searches on cutting down the emissions systems to get rid of some of the vacuum lines, but no one has gone into if i can keep the twins and automatic tranny. i dont need the emissions and would realy like to get rid of them but i cant swap out the turbo and tranny untill after the engine is back up and running and my bank account fills up again. does anyone know for sure how to cut out some of the stuff under the UIM thanks

best thing to do is go non-sequential. it takes out a lot of the selonoids and you only have 4 -5 vaccum lines under there.

I personally (being an automatic owner) would NOT go non-sequential. These cars are (relatively) doggy enough off the line, and taking the sequential away would just KILL the performance even more.

You can do it, just run resistors for the solenoids you run to keep from getting a CEL. You may not be happy with the idle, just a heads up.

Here's some information on how to go to the 'simplified sequential' setup:

http://www.turborx7.com/rx7vacuum.htm

It will cut the rats nest way down at the cost of being emissions legal. I agree about non-sequential on an auto tranny. I think that would be a step backwards. The above diagrams are awesome...I used them when I did my rats nest overhaul.

Harold, the digrams in the link that Sonny provided are great info. Diagram #3 labeled as: "Pressurized Vacuum Diagram" will give you the extra info that you need to make the system work for an automatic.

Im currently remaking my seq setup right now because of a leak I havent found during last summer, and I think Im gonna go with the simplified version. I was just wondering... How illegal with this be emission wise? is it noticible? by that I do mean, I hope the car doesnt smoke a huge cloud of black smoke right?

This procedure will not make the car smoke. As for the legal issues, I have no clue. I don't live in Canada.

Why do Canadians get bent out of shape when Americans don't answer?

I'm not Canadian and allot of my post get no reply.....perhaps your just one of those overly sensitive Canadians LOL hope you know I'm kidding. ! ! ! If you can get by without passing emissions then doing away with it is unnoticeable from a visual point of view as most of it's under the UIM, with the exception of the air pump, and EGR that are visable.

Ok good. I wanted to maybe go non-seq because that I had failure somewhere in my system and I prattically tried everything with a vaccum pump and never found my problem. But the only thing that was keeping me from doing it is when I tried it with the poor-man conversion, the sob was noisy like nothing else....

But this is going to help im sure.
Only problem beeing right now is that theres a little problem in the diagram you guys have on that page. Here's whats missing.

Where does this line go to?

See the yellow line at the top coming out of the LIM with the check-valve in it going to the pressure chamber? That's it. You can route it through the LIM nipple (it's just a pass-through) or you can just run the line straight from point A to point B.
