Auto to Manual

I just recently purchased a '93 RX-7 auto with about 68K on it for 9 grand. The only problem is, its an automatic but I wasnt going to let that stop me cause it was a good deal. Is it possible to swap in a manual tranny for the automatic? I dont want my car driving me around switching gears for me, especially a sports car like this!

I did take a look at that one. I saw the price and said this is definatly too good to be true and sure enough it was. I went down to south jersey for this one. The guy who I bought it from knew his rotary damn well.

Run a search and you'll turn up several threads on the conversion from automatic to manual. I think a few have even created webpages with walk-throughs on the swap.

Definately do it, everything bolts up just a pain locating parts for a good price. Go new with clutch , and used everything else. I got alot of parts off

By doing this would the value of the car go up or down?

You would be able to sell it as a manual.
More people are interested in a manual.
More potential for high HP # with a manual
If you do it the right way, you can't tell.
Manuals are worth more !

i'm in the middle of doing the swap now... the wiring is the trickiest part in my opinion. I found all the parts and what not fairly easily and at great prices....
i did make the mistake of not labeling everything, so take this advice.... LABEL LABEL LABEL! unless u got photographic memory :P
