Auto instrument cluster in manual car

I would like to pick up an extra instrument cluster to paint and put white faced gauges in or put aftermarket gauges in place of the oil pressure and water temp gauges. What are the differences with the automatic clusters if I come across one of those? Anyone have a picture of one? Would the white faced gauges get rid of any differences?

Thanks,

Nick

As far as I know, the only difference is the gear indicators that are at the bottom of the speedo......

the only difference is the gear indicators as said in the previous post......i took the one out of my wrecked auto to put in my girls new ride and switched out the speedo cluster into hers and changed all the plastics. The auto has only 30,000miles on it and hers has 70,000. Everything else looked the same in back except for the extra plug for the gears......

So if I put in white faced gauges you wouldn't be able to tell?

Thanks for the help.

Also the "Hold" light, and the 7KPM Redline vs. the 8K RPM Redline for the manual. I've heard that the Hold light will flash if it doesn't get a signal, and I've also heard that the Redline warning buzzer is integrated in the cluster, I have no idea if this is true or not.

Autos have a differnt gear ratio, and one of the guys that does the auto-manual swap says that you can replace the intrument cluster so that ithe speedo reads right again. That says to me there is a difference.
