To be honest if your doing track work then yes every bit of weight reduction is critical.

If your purely street driving then no you won't notice any difference.

Why compromise a bit of weight for a good quality sound system? (Personally I think the standard BOSE system is very good with upgraded speakers)

I know I couldn't live without good music whilst driving no matter what car it was.

2 12's might be a little excessive in such a small cabin.

I have a friend with 3 12's in the back and he's happy with the way the car pulls. Everyone's satisfaction is different, plus he shows his FD. I have a removable 10" sub with mb quarts at the doors and I'm happy.

Two 12s plus enclosure won't weigh more than ~ 70 pounds. So...with this setup you would notice "less performance loss" than you would carrying a passenger.

I have one 12 and....it is impressive.

Have fun!

i got a 12 in the back, acutally i have a full system in both my cars and am perfectly fine with any perforamance lost, it worth it to enjoy my drive. heck if you do bigger rims it will effect your performance more then your basic system with a box and a couple of subs.
