Attn: Tein HA Owners
Tein,s are a great supension!
I set it at full hard for autocross, looks a bit silly bouncing down the street to get gas !!! but handles great on the track and can go fully soft on the rear for the dragstrip and street.
Ordered mine with pillow mounts because it made sense to renew the whole piece.

Does anyone know where I can get a hold of the shock dyno curves for the Tein HA's or other Tein shocks. What I'm talking about is the Damping Force vs. Shock Velocity curves which show the rebound and compression curves for the shocks at different settings.
I have these curves for the Stock touring and R1 shocks along with the yellow Koni's and GAB shocks if anyone is interested.

I have the Tein HA's with the pillow ball upper mounts on my VR-4. Handling is unbelievable and my short times dropped to 1.6-1.7's by eliminating wheel hop.
Why get the HA's when you can get the RA's though. The RA's are not available for my car but they are for the seven... and are much lighter (aluminum bodied).
Also, check out JIC's, they are a bit more but are a step up in quality.
They are too much for street use IMO.... they can give me a headache running errands on the Chicago streets.
Just my .02 cents.

teh HA are being replaced with the FLEX i believe, u get all teh same stuff but now they are also ride height adjustable without changing the spring preload. and i think teh prices are better too. i have the HA and like them very much, the RA have much stiffer spring rates they are something like 900 lbs instead of teh 550 front and 450 rear for the HA, FLEX has teh same spring rates.
the HA come with teh 550 and 450 rear, you can not get anythgin deffernt when u purchase them because thats what they come with, and if you road race thats an ideal sprign rate that most have found to use. you CAN order diffrent rate springs from tein and just stick them in. i use setting 18 from full soft, i foudn that to be the best for my liking, and it seems to match the spring rate well. i did get teh pillow ball mounts, not sure about eth noise in teh cabin, but i dotn think it has increased much if any at all, the ride is a little stiffer, i dont complain though i think its actually pretty good, except for some hard bumps, but it could be because i used to have 650 lb springs on one of other cars i used to own
. if u get the HA i reccomend u do get the pillow ball mounts, stock ones will most likely be worn out and the pillow ***** will give u more control. i use same settign 18 for street and track, i dont like to set it to softer settign on teh street because i sometimes use teh street as a track and dont want to get out fo my car to adjust anythign if i want to take a corner at max speed.

u want 550 and 450 because that will make the car understeer a little which is what u want on teh track especialyl if you car has more tehn stock power, and if u want to rotate teh car more u can alwasy do so with teh accelerator pedal, it has more then enouf power to do that even in stock form. you will find that tire pressure (even 1 psi) and camber will make a big ddifrence in the way the car handles.
can someone show me where it says not to go past 16 clicks? the pdf u guys are talkign about. oh and also is it from full soft that u cant go beyong 16 clikcs or full hard. it seems that if u go anything lower then 16 from soft then the spring rate wouldnt match the shock rates.
sorry for post whorng, i just noticed that

Here is the manual in pdf format for the Tein HA's. It says in the first couple of pages how far you can adjust the shocks.

P.S. I got this off of the Tein website. You can also get them for the Type Flex of RA if you would like.

I had some trouble posting the actual pdf file. So here is the link to the Tein website that has the file for you.

I hope that helps.
