Thanks mate...just wondering if u have any pics of them fitted?

Because of their shape I just want to see how high they sit.

Sounds like a go-er for me though.

I sold the first one a while back and using the second one as a overflow reservoir, I got rid of the stock reservoir..

I have one of KINETIK_FD3S's AST, over a year now and no problems leaking at all. I guess I am not a huge fan of the Stant lever cap either, but it hasn't had any problems. Overall it is a great product!

I remember seeing a squarish or rectangular looking one that seem to fit a little better than the round ones.

KINETIK_FD3S,

Your AST looks nice. However, it appears that its function is not the same as an oem AST. An oem AST has a pressure cap. That cap keeps the system pressurized to 13 psi, at which point the cap releases some pressure to the overflow tank. It appears that your AST doesn't hold make the system hold any pressure, and that it simply sends everything to the overflow tank. This results in a completely unpressurized system. Please correct me if I am mistaken.

If you look at the red one pictured above it does come with a pressure cap so it works exactly like the stock one, He only did not include the pressure cap in the newer style AST to reduce cost...All in all it works just like the stock one and one beautiful piece...

When I pop the hood to vent after hard driving, if I squeeze the upper radiator hose I can tell there is pressure in the system.

If that is correct, I would like to hear it from the manufacturer. It "looks" like the seal where the inner rubber seal would seat is too low. Perhaps I am mistaken.

I understand what you are saying, but I had the old style and have the new style and both of them seal very good, I just decided to use the new one as an overflow since the new t-stat housing that I bought from Japan serves as a AST and Filler neck...

I am using a 0 pressure cap on mine since I am using it as an Overflow reservoir and it is a tight fit so I am sure that it seals up preety good.

the filler caps i use are standard 1.5" and 32mm.. i don't know how you came to that conclusion since their is nothing unusual about the way they look in the pictures.

EARL'S manufactures the filler caps but i can tell you they seal perfect.

I didn't come to any conclusion. I only asked for clarification because the picture looked like the top was too deep for the inside seal to seal properly. Thanks for the explanation. I appreciate it
