Which AST fits best with PFS I/C?

Hi all,

I'm finally getting around to shopping for an aluminum AST to replace the stocker. I've been putting it off since I haven't been driving my '7 much lately.

I'm familiar w/ the various ASTs that are available, but am wondering if anyone knows which one/s fit best with the PFS intercooler (preferably w/o having to relocate the AST mounting point).

I searched this site but didn't seem to find anything that addressed this question.

TIA...

Air Seperation Tank. And it's cap. The AST effectively operates as an overflow tank, where water can sit that and let the air settle out of it when under pressure. You also, after hard extended driving, can hear it gurgling after shutdown, this is normal.

Depending on your IC piping you may have to get the AST elimination kit. I had to when I installed my M2 medium SMIC.

none of them fit well with the PFS SMIC. I bought my alum ast from rotary performace and I bent the monting lug on the IC a little bit so the ast fit better. it fits, but the hose is too close to the belts for my taste. I am trying to figure out someplace else to mount the ast, but no luck so far.

the honest answer?

I bought my PFS stuff 2nd hand.
I have been very, very unimpressed by their customer service. I have not had a single call returned...

secondly, I assumed they were all the same... the pics I have seen of people's engine bays led me to believe that the PFS one was similar to all the others... I probably should have done some more research I guess.

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but has anyone worked this out over the years? I just got a PFS SMIC and would like to fit it without removing the AST.

Also, below is a picture of my AST. I'm not sure, but it looks like a Pettit, can anyone tell?
