ARG! Got rear ended by an idiot in a talon tailgating!!! *pics*

Damnit!!! It was raining today, and some idiot in a talon was tailgating me for a few miles, I tried to pull to another lane but he wouldnt get off my ***. We were coming up to an intersection, and the truck ahead of my abruptly slowed, so I slowed, and as I was about to stop 5 ft from him, the guy behind me plowed into me, sliding me into the pickup. The cop was really nice, felt bad, and told me I'm not at fault, and my insurance should cover it. If they have any problems they should contact him. The damage - My front bumper and support is messed up, the hood is messed up, my rear bumper, license plate, and my exhaust is totalled. It's completely bent and kinked.

Damnit, my baby!

Man thats no good. Same thing happened to me except my car got totalled and i got put into the hospital for the night. Looks like you will be able to get a nice 99 spec front like everyone has suggested. Good luck with insurance, hope it all works out for you.

Yeah whenever something bad happens, theres a good thing to it.

And in your case, you get a nice new exhaust with 99 front at no cost!!!

Thats great. Sorry to hear about the whole thing though.

How would I get a 99spec front end, wouldn't that be fraud?

This guy claims I hit the truck first, and he hit me after. I'm not going to rely on a cop to back up my story. I hope this doesn't turn into a shitstorm, this is at least $5000 in damage. And obviously the truck driver is going to be nuetral. Heading down to city hall to fill out a report.

That's shouldn't be 5k. And why wouldn't the talon guy's insurance cover it? Wasen't he at fault???

Good luck with the repairs. Hopefully you'll get everything handled quickly.

The reason they wouldn't handle it is because he claims I hit the truck first which is a load of bullshit. So I figure they would back him up, and only cover the rear. The damage is easily $5000. It needs a new front bumper, rear bumper, exhaust, and front bumper support. I've seen much less be that pricey.

Your insurance company will fight on your behalf to get that front bumper fixed. Although the Talon driver claims that you hit the truck first, it would be pretty much his word against yours exept for the fact that you have the cop aggreeing with you that it was his fault. In the end the police report should have who is at fault.

Police report. have a copy. then, it dosent mean **** what he tsyas happened. all that matters is that report. insurance companies can't refute it.

also, know your rights, dont take the insurance adjusters quote for how much you are going to get. they will **** you

get a qutoe from the two best shops in your area as for direct replacement of all damaged parts and complete labor and painting.

DO NOT SETTLE FOR WHAT AN INSURANCE ADJUSTER OFFERS. IT IS BULL. THIER JOB IS TO FIND PEOPLE WILLING TO TAKE THAT OFFER.

Well, if you were here you'd be at fault for rear ending the truck. Following an unsafe distance. It wouldn't matter that you were 'pushed' (it's irrelevant when all vehicles have power and wheels and roll so easily).

Get the Police report otherwise you might be in for a shock.

No, some 50's year old vietnam vet. Apparently he's uninsured too. I have uninsured driver's coverage though. He's getting sued.

How would I be following too close when the truck was stopped? It was at a red light, and I was creeping up to stop behind the truck like everyone else does. He just braked a bit harder and stopped quicker than normal.

"should"....pfft....they will somehow try and blame the front damage on you. So be prepared to be pissed off. And if they do end up screwing you....make sure you goto court and ask them about filing a small claims complaint. Good luck

Thanks, La Crosse. It was a nice plate till that jackass smashed it. Thankfully I only use one, and I have a good spare one.
