Question Apexi T-Max Shocks

Got these APEXI T-Max Shocks for the front of my ride. Part # says for 93-95 RX-7. Upon installation I noticed that they were not even long enough to reach where the holes had been set up mounting and fastening from under the hood. These shocks are the adjustable one's that are light blue in color and are adjustable. Check out pics to see actual shocks.

2 Questions:
Am I installing properly?
How come when bolted from bottom properly, shock only extends to reach just below the opening? (This is where the extension from the shock itself comes through and is ready to bolt by opening hood and using 1 nut for center)

I may be asking a dumb question, and I'm not trying to insult your intelligence or start ****, but did you lift up from the brake rotor to push the strut up through the hole further so the whole assembly is not just hanging there? I assume you did but I've done bonehead things like that before, haha, just getting caught up in the moment and forgetting something. I haven't done my suspension yet so I'm just tossing out a guess here.

Not the problem

I've got many hours underneath my car especially on the suspension. Did not have a problem with the bilstein strut that I had in prior. The Tein Spring does not sit on the base of the strut properly and the springs even with spring calibers holding them down as much as they can go, I can not get the top part to hold the whole thing together.

I wasn't aware that Apexi sold separate shocks. Are you sure those aren't meant to be part of a coilover setup?

When everything is just hanging its not gonna reach. Youre gonna have to bolt them in from the top and then raise the hub assembly up to reach the hole for the lower control arm. Slip the bolt in and tighted everything down. The tein springs are very short.

I just looked those shocks up...they have a six-height setting perch. At the front, you will want to use the highest perch setting. The rear, you may want to use a lower setting to even out the ride height.

Cost

I think that they cost 1800.00 for the front pair. I got them through e-bay-Brand New in the box-for 135.00.
