Apexi N1 Dual vs RB single (a review)

My RB single ( SS old version) rusted through last weekend after 4 years of good service. Kinda weird because the car sees little rain use, not to mention that It never been driven in the snow. But that is another story. I decided that I would try a different style exhaust this time around and I heard that Fd3boost had a used Apexi up for sale.
Needless to say exhaust nuts that have been on a car for 4+ years are a BITCH to remove.. but after a long hard fight, and the help of redrx00 the nuts came off. now on to the review.
The Apexi is MUCH louder than my RB single... how loud you ask? Let me put it this way, its just slightly quieter than my exhaust was when it was completely open from the cat-back during the couple miles from my house to Redrx00's. It does however in my opinion have a much nice tone at wot than the RB.
I dont have any dyno comparison of the two but it seems as though the apexi has increased the mid range punch just a little. The difference is probably in my head.. but what can I say..

Thanks,

Matthew Walsh

Power.. well I can't really say as the car hasnt been on a dyno to compare.

Sound.. Well that all depends on what you like. Do you want your car to be loud as ****? or do you want it to be somewhat subtle? I actually like the sound of the RB better than the apexi. but hey.. to each his own.

Two years ago when I still had that caback on my car. I was pulling into FedEx field for the rev it up they hosted. Anyway there was a small crowd at the gates and a FC behind. I popped it off the rev limiter a few times to "wow" the crowd. I park get out and lock up my car. The two guys in the FC pull up and say "man you should have seen the badass double flames you shot out of the exhaust.
Funny story for your new exhaust anyway. Enjoy Matt. Nice to meet you. We ought to get together soon and thropw back a few cold ones.

Cheers.

I switched out my RB single for the Apexi n1 dual, and am much happier now. I'm going to get a Res MP soon and will see what it does to the sound.

I first had n1 duals with stock cat.. sounded very nice!! but when i switched to full exhaust.. MAN!! it was loud.. you could definitely hear me coming a mile away.. Since I'm an "old f*ck", i had to get silencers put in.. much better now!

i currently have the rb single and i want to go with something louder. i dont know why, i guess its the rice in me. i would think that n1's or anyother non-quiet exhaust would have more flow than the rb's. anyone from the bay area, ca want to trade exhausts?

I think the N1 Dual is very good looking exhuast to add to that. I heard a black FD with the duals fitted with mid pipe. Loud was def an understatement.

I had a down pipe, a non resonated mid pipe and the N1s....that was insane. Now that I have a resonated mid pipe and the silencers, its very liveable. CJ

my dual n1s no cat were much too loud even with the silencers. i must say WOT sounds amazing. but highway was just way to much droning.

i like the RB duals because they are very quiet and sound decent and LOOK decent as well. hopefully it'll sound even better when i weld the borla to my mp and get rid of that nasty cat. i believe the RB will give you slightly less hp than n1s but it really wont make that much of a difference.

basically i like the moderation of the RB at cruising, the WOT of the n1s, either idle sounds pretty good ones louder, and i still find pink disgusting.
