N1 DUALS

Fitment has NOTHING to do with whether or not your bumper melts (with the N1 dual). The ONLY reason why that black valance under the rear bumper melts is because the clips that hold the valance to the bumper loosens, and the valance sags onto the exhaust. I've had my n1 dual for over 4 years now, and my bumper is perfect.......

the racing beat does not flow quite as well as the n1s. but it is MUCH quieter. the difference in hp is negligible, and it is still quieter than the N1s silenced which flow worse than stock. and its definitely a lot prettier.

N1s are beast if you want to scare v8s and everything else away.

I've had them both and I personally like the N1 dual more. I was a bit disappointed with how quiet the racing beat was. As far as flow goes, I really don't know how the two compare. You would think that because the N1 is quite a bit louder, that is uses less packing but that is just my guess...

I really like the N1 dual. I had the old HKS single tip exhaust with a midpipe. It was very very very quiet, even with the MP. I put on the N1 duals that I bought used (only had like 100 miles on them). The car looks mean! It was very loud on the outside of the car, sitting inside it sounds great. it doesn't drone and really screams. With a MP at idle it came to 105 DB at 3000 RPM was 110 DB (both taken outside the car).

I put my highflow cat on because I figured I would get pulled over and didn't want to get caught with a MP. The car is noticeably quieter but is still loud by any standard.

Not catch their attention?

You just bought an N1, good luck - you're going to need it!

I fixed the backfiring. I am happy with the sound, and my butt dyno is happy. The car already attracts attention. I'm not too worried about the look of the exhaust catching an officers eye.

I meant the sound.

Just wait until you put a mid-pipe on. You're going to be shitting bricks the first time you get on it hard.

Apexi N1 Duals = ****. If you ever compare the sizes to other brands of exhausts, you'll find that the inlet size is SMALLER than all the other ones...72mm vs. the standard 80mm systems. So for a smaller exhaust that probably flows less than all the others, you get an exhaust that sounds ok with a highflow cat/stock cat, but sounds like freeze dried dog turd with a midpipe. I had this exhaust for about a WEEK before I sold it. I was dying to get rid of it...

I'll have proof soon as I will take my rx-7 to the race track with my N1Duals to see if it has better top end. power fc settings will be identical. If my trap speed is higher I will assume the N1Duals flow better.

I think it still flows more then the racing beat duals in the picture above. And everybody is entitled to their opinion.

backfiring fix

Hey SkywarpR, Sorry about my messed up PM. Good to hear that you solved your problem. What did it turn out to be??? If I had to guess it was a tuning issue...

I agree. I just wish I could take the free advertising for Racing Beat off the side of mine.

It's fine, and I believe Vosko was making 500rwhp+ with it.

You're right, my exhaust sucks. I should have never have bought it. I should delete my original post, and move to Japan. I'll move in next door to you and devote my life to being as cool as you, by coping everything you do to you car.

I went to Racing Beat and looked those up. From the picture they look much smaller. Racing Beat states that their dual tip muffler has 3in OD in let and 3in polished, dual 3in tips.
Sorry.

It would be nice to get dyno numbers.

I'll post my results as soon as I get to the drag strip. I have many runs on my setup, I will know if the Apexi gives me a better trap speed.

Your exhaust does suck. Deal with the truth.

Moving to Japan is up to you. If you want to learn how to build your own engine's and how to do a 20B swap into an FD3S, then by all means, come over and move into the house next to mine. Your more than welcome. Bring your own car parts/money/food.

People like you, with your attitude make this forum suck. All I am trying to do is share my experiance, and opinions after installing this exhaust system.

And I'm sharing my experiences. I have had: Apexi N1 Duals, Greddy, HKS, JIC, Border, Blitz exhausts... Out of all of them, my all time favorite was the JIC with the Borla midpipe. The quietest was Greddy w/ Borla. The largest diameter(90mm) was the Border. The smallest diameter was the Apexi N1 Duals. With a stock catalytic converter, the Duals sounded pretty good. With the borla, it sounded significantly louder. With a midpipe it sounded like ****.

How many of the high HP FD's are running Apexi N1 Duals?

Appearance and sound are opinions...but let's wait and see what Zerobanger traps in the quarter to see if they "perform".

Yep, I'm an **** tard. Good flame here buddy. How about you click here to see how much an "***" you appear to be. For those of you who are lazy, here's a cut and paste:

This is not a flame war site, so please do not engage in such. Consideration will not be made between the instigator and those who merely participate.

I guess if stating my opinion on an exhaust that I have had and disliked is considered "flaming" then I'm in the wrong. I guess since I've only built a "few" engine's and ported a "few" engine's and tuned a "few" engine's that I know NOTHING about making power. I guess that makes me an "**** tard". I guess when I put my 20B into my FD that I'll still be an "**** tard". I guess making 550 rwhp in a stock 20B will continue to put me in the "**** tard" category right?

I guess I'll just keep being an "**** tard" and make more power than you.

Perhaps APEX wanted a lower pressure higher speed flow of exhaust gasses though there mufflers for some reason, perhaps because they found a way to make performance gains off it.

Before you go rain on somebody's parade with unsubstantial evidence how about you use your brain first. Now if Zerobanger runs his car and the performance is lower then expected I would admit it is an inferior exhaust. Your claim, that a smaller inlet will hamper performance gains is groundless, unless you have a formal education in fluid dynamics, or have some sort of physical proof.
