Apex'i GT exhaust real or not?

Okay here is the deal, I JUST today bought a brand new Apex'i gt exhaust system (cat back) and I don't see ANYTHING on the piping or muffler where it says Apex. Nothing is on the entire exhaust saying what brand it is. I got it in an Apex box and all, no instruction manual (not like I need one but it'd make me feel more comfortable). I tried going to Apex'i site and couldn't see any identifying marks. How do I know if it's real or not? Please comment if you are 100% sure in how to tell. Thanks a lot for the help!

The GT Spec doesn't have any embossed badges on them in contrast to the N1's. It should have included a silencer with it also.

I got one from Rx7 Trix and it did not have any badges. Was in a Apexi box! The GT that I have on my rx7(94') HAS the badges on the can. I had the same question and he assured me it was the real thing. Sound and looks the same as mine.(Correction, mines louder, single turbo, etc..) Still sounds good. Guess i just have to believe him!!

Hey BigIslands so do you have the badges on the REAL Apexi exhaust and you think you got a phony one and returned it? I want to mount it on but want to make sure it's the real thing. I did get the silencer with it but doesn't have any badges or instructions so I am in question. If bigislands is saying he DOES have badges why don't we all have them on our exhausts?

they usually don't have brand badges or embossing (most jap exhausts) - but most will have a jasma embossing somewhere. Jasma is a manufacturers association.

Well, I bought mine back in 2000 so Apexi could have started to emboss the logo afterwards. Try calling Apexi directly to confirm the difference.

Hey also I was looking at the pics of the GT exhaust and mine doesn't have any hangers on the muffler only on the piping about 7" away from where the bolts go... and it looks to me like there should be 2 hangers. Let me know if you have 2 sets of hangers on your Apex'i thanks!

My real one has the hangers welded on all the way down the pipe.....The "Questionable copy" Has 2 hangers welded on and then a Band to wrap around the muffler.(Has hangers on it) I went ahead and put it on at the customers request. It sounds and looks good. When I called Rx7 Trix, He said the used to put them on and sometimes they still do and sometimes they don't. I got mine around 2000 as well so I don't know what the correct answer is!!? Only way to find out for sure is call Apexi like Batmobile said. Also my flange is completly different than my customers.(Mine is just flat!,, His has a wrap around thing going on! Don't know!!)

LOL! Damn. I keep looking around and find nothing to confirm one way or the other. I tried calling Apex earlier and they weren't open. Tomorrow I will go ahead and call then get put it on. My GT exhaust has one welded on hanger then a drop hanger for what I am assuming goes around the muffler. My flange is flat nothing curved about it. It sounds like we have 3 different types of the same exhaust?! lol. Sooo confusing. Do you remember if yours came with instructions or anything besides the actual exhaust? Cause all mine was, was just bubble wrap a little foam and the exhaust. Hate to see me spend $500 on a fake, or for that matter hate to see ANYONE get ripped like that. Also is Pettit the only people that make the high flow bolt on cats?
