I havent thought about that before, but I think you right.

Maybe better going with the other design. Is it difficult to lift up the radiator? How do I do it?

Thanks.

By looking at that intercooler, the end tanks are horrible. The XS kit was much nicer, look at their website http://www.xs-engineering.com/asp/index.asp it's much better designed. Jason, since your an Apexi dealer, can you purchase the GTR core, and have the end tanks fabricated? I'm sure they would sell.

Ive been doing some research and notised that there is a brace going in the front, see the Attattchment and compare it with the silvercoloured car above that got the apexi core in the front.

Have they cut the brace away? or can it be taken away easy? Does it affect anything?

Thanks.

yeah, it has to go. i just put a tsf intercooler (http://turbostreetfighter.com/html/cooler.htm) on my car. had to take off the reinforcement bar and that piece of metal. its ok as long as you dont hit or get hit from the front, eeek! saves some weight too. i'll get pics asap

WOW! Thats a setup I like. I really would like more pics.

Ive decided now to make one of my own, I have got two saab 9-3 intercoolers (the core can handle 200-250Hp each) wich will be welded together as one pice, full aluminium IC. The att. is a pic of one saab IC. It will be a highly affordable IC, Ive got the two saab IC for 100$.

You are very observant.

Not only do you have to remove teh fiberglass like reinforcement that holds up the bumper, but you also have to remove that structural reinforcement that's shown in your picture. This is kind of bad, because now after installing the fmic, it's the ONLY thing connected both sides. The IC basically has now become part of the structure of your car.

I totally forgot about that IC they made, post some pics when you get them, I'd be really interested in seeing them. Thanks.

But using the IC as a reinforcement could not be a good thing, I dont think the IC will hold up for to long.

Hmm....... This IS a problem. Im not really happy cutting in my chassi. Perhaps it will be enough to just cut away some material in the bottom of tha brace and place the IC underneath/behind. I think I have to lift up the radiator a bit anyway cause the total IC core will be over 4" thick.
