Apexi exhaust systems

Hey i'm not here to argue about sounds and all that crap. But reading a few forums I see alot of people give advice to people with N/A car and telling them that apexi would be a good exhaust. I have a turbo rx7 and was wondering if apexi works well with turbos? I don't see why it wouldn't, maybe it restricts the turbo more then other exhaust? Anyways i really doubt i'll have a problem but just in case before i spend $500 on something would like some info.

That said, the A'PEXi exhaust have no problem with flow. Sound on the other hand is completely subjective, but they are one of the louder (if not the loudest) systems on the market.

i had one on my N/A talon and it was loud..

i would never put one on my FD nor would i consider it to other people putting it on their fd's..although its a good exhaust, the sound will make me sell it after the first hour of driving..

I have a GT spec on mine. IMO with the silencer installed it's not so loud.

I would go with a Blitz Nur-spec.... Either I'm losing my hearing, or it's not as loud as people say. I've got a full 3" exhuast, and it sounds awsome. I heard someone else's with a single, and it was much louder.... But for the price (much less than an apexi cat-back), it is a very good deal, and sounds better than apexi.... (IMO)

The greddy Evo II is comparable in size to the apexi GT spec, MUCH quieter, and you don't have to bother with a silly silencer.

Well seeing as all of our cars are turbo we wouldn't have a clue. Please check the Honda forums.

Not true their are a bunch of people that have NA cars as their daily beater on this forum. Plus I am not asking if somebody has a NA car with this system and if it works well. I am asking if someone has a turbo with this system and if it works just as well as the NA or as well as it would with a different system such as hks bla bla bla. Don't get me wrong though i don't want to compare which exhaust is better now. Just want to know if apexi works well with turbo cars because i keep hearing people suggesting them to NA

Nope, they don't work at all with turbo cars. I think most of them are marked, "NA APPLICATIONS ONLY" I wouldn't even try using them on a turbo car as you're just asking for trouble and could lead to major drive train and engine damage.

We understand but since your in the 3rd gen section and as you know all 3rd gen are turbo we replied. IMO it really doesn't depend on make but on tubing size, mods, back pressure, flow, bends etc.

Why would it matter??? It would be one of the best for a turbo car seeing as how it is a straight threw muffler. A turbo cars exhaust should be as restriction free as possible. It doesn't need backpressur like an NA.

And how did you know I was thinking about bunnies in a battle field????

I have the Apex N1 dual tip straight through. Not too loud if you ask me until you get up around 5000rpm - then it sounds like armageddon. cool.

Depending on your mods too big of a exhaust diameter is just as bad as too little of a diameter. For example a 4" exhaust on a stock engine would be overkill. I personally like the silly silencer thing because it gives me options. Nice and quiet or super loud.
