Apexi Engine Shutoff Timer - worth it?

Anyone use one of these? I have purchased one of these in frustration over my fans not coming on when I think they should. I figure if I can at least let my car run after get out for 5 minutes or so, it will allow for proper cooloff without me having to sit in the car and wait.

It came in a plastic box with all japanese writing, has anyone ever used one of these? if so, how do i install this? and are their different times you can set for engine shutoff?

thx for the help,

RXJoey

The car will NOT cool off while sitting still and idling -- it will get HOTTER!

So would you recommend against this completely? I have always let my car run for 1-3 minutes after I drive to let the turbos cool off. If I can get the fans running immediately after shut off, I prob wouldnt need this Apexi piece. I will check the fan mod faq right now. thx

Just do the fan mod if you want to run the fans after the car is off.

Find a stray wire with a spade connector on the end by the ECU, it's the only one there not connected to anything. Just attach it to a ground point and put a simple switch in the middle.

Like rynberg said, letting the car idle will only cause it to get hotter. Just drive the car easy for the last few minutes before your destination for proper cooldown.
