apexi blowoff valve

I had just bought the apexi blow off valve and i dont really like it. It basically sounds like stock. my car idles alittle higher. Did anybody ever install a blow off valve and there car idles alittle higher? I called apexi and the guy told me that can happen and even on the directions it says some cars may get a erratic idle or something like that. Then the guy basically said i need some type of fuel managment and told me there piggyback computer would fix it. im not planning on getting a afc so forget that. I dunno. all i know is when i first start the car the idle jump up and down alittle then after about a minute it sits at like 1,000 rpms. I also heard bad things about the apexi blow off valve like they leak boost i dunno should i get the blitz i also seen the turbo xs rfl for like $140 just want some opinions.

I have the Apexi, I think its a nice piece. Make sure the valve isnt slightly opened or it will leak boost or create to much vacuum at idle. try tighteneing the screw at the end of the BOV. Just turn it a couple times and see what happens.

I been tighting it and loosening it like crazy trying 2 get it right if i tighten 2 much im scared im gonna get compressor surge. i dunno put even if i tighten all the way the idle will stay the same. the only way it will go down is if i put the car in gear and let the clutch out slow without giving it gas then put it back in neutral but once i hit the gas idle goes right back 2 where it was.

Even though my apexi had a huge leak in it, I never had any rough idle. I just noticed the large amount of air leaking out of it at idle. It turned out to be a busted washer.

My car made about .05 bar more boost with the stock BOV than it did with the apexi.

I noticed that also. I think im gonna get the blitz did any1 loose boost with the blitz blow off valve. Also did any1 use that turbo xs rfl. I really like the way the blitz sounds though and my friend who will probably help me do rebuilds and turbo upgrades when the time comes says to get the blitz.

Do what? You are supposed to cap it off if you get an direct application bov or vent the oem.

I have one, no leaks, no loss of boost or change to idle. Maybe, I'm just lucky.

I loved mine until it broke. I don't know a lot about the anatomy of a BOV, but what i would call the "diaphragm" (a thick washer-like object that appeared to be the "door" to let air in or out) broke into two pieces. I got lucky that nothing got sucked in. i now have a GReddy Type-S for the time being.
