Here's my advice: drop in a new engine from Ray Crowe, no porting or anything like that. Get Chuck's notes and tune the car yourself, there's a ton of info out there. It'll actually be cheaper and less frustrating in the end. I've seen original engines with horrible tunes that were way more durable than what you're dealing with here.

Stop paying people for subpar results.
