Apex Seal Blew, is Core Bad??

I am about to get an engine from pineappleracing, but problem is.. I dont want to fork over the grand for the core charge. If I blew an apex seal in my engine, will that do something like score the block or some crap? Let me know what you think.

Chances are that the rotor housing is wrecked and etched with the apex seal ripping through it. You will probably need a new rotor and housing. Thats what I needed when I blew my apex seal.

Umm, a core exhange means that you send them your old engine and they take $1000 off the price.

The price quoted is probably with the core exchange, meaning that if you don't send them your old engine, the new one is $1000 more.

You don't pay $1000, you get $1000 off.

Doesn't he use your rebuildable core for the rebuilds? I thought that is what he told me when i talked to him. I bought an Atkins engine for our sec. gen. you get the core deposit back if you send them your engine core. As long as the piece didn't stay in the housing and grind the **** out of everthing it should be OK barring any major overheating oil starvation, other damage, etc..

Yes, if your core is unuseable you will have to pay the core. Or he can rebuild yours and you buy the new parts.

So they're going to take my f'd up core... and rebuild it?

THe price says $2695 EXCLUDING Core... so I am assuming it's $3695, and only $2695 after they get my engine correct?

Do you know if they send me a whole new engine? or wait til they get mine before they send another one?

you have to talk to Rob directly or someone at Pineapple. As for Atkins they sent the new engine right away. I got it in 3 days and i live in the middle of the pacific.(the engine beat my overnight mail money order from my bank in mich.)once i sent them my old engine they refunded the core charge.

Most (not sure about pineapple) places send yours new engine out right away, and then wait a few days to make sure they get the core before charging you the extra thousand for the exchange if they don't get it. If they do, then you only pay the $2695.

Your best bet is probably to call Rob, and ask him what his shop does. That means you have to wait til monday, but hey, **** happens.
