Anyway to identify a wire in the front harness?
I have a wire that seemed to fry itself but i dont know what it is for. it runs through the front harness (goes across the front of the car under the hood latch bar) it is black with a yellow line and is either a 18 or 20 guage wire. and to the best of my knowledge it does not run into the relay box. any way i can figure out what it goes to with out taking my entire harness apart?

Check any and all nearby connectors/relays/fuses in the front harness. You should be able to see the wires going into the back of them. Find one with a B/Y wire, then test the continuity between that pin and the wire that's come apart (I assume some metal is showing). The alternative involves going through the wiring diagrams and stopping on every page that shows the front harness highlighted, then look at the bottom portion that shows the connectors and look for a B/Y pin, then see if that pin appears on the page. Not fun, but could be done in a half hour.
