Anyone using an Evo intercooler?
Heard that these are fairly easy to use. Is anyone using one and if so what work is required to install it. Does anyone have pictures. The intercooler that I can get my hands on is from an EVO 8 or 9.

I know absolutely nothing about fitting an EVO IC into an FD. I haven't heard anyone use one either.
I think you are better off bying an IC that has already been engineered/proven to fit in an FD. These cars are a headache as it is, why add more to the pain? Especially where there are so many options out there. If your plan is to save a few bucks be aware that in the long run you just might end up paying more money. Custom work aint cheap that's for sure.
Either way good luck.

The reason I asked is because RMagic in Japan sells a kit that includes an intercooler from an EVO4-6 I believe. You can see it on japanparts.com then select FD from the drop down menus and go to the cooling section. It will be on the first page in the Rmagic section. Anyways I can get the intercooler for free. I just didnt know if it was an easy install or not. I dont mind doing some fabrication I have a MIG and a TIG I just dont want to hack all sorts of things on the car to make it fit.

If you don't mind doing all the fabrication for the mounting brackets and the piping yourself, you can use whatever IC will fit wherever you want to mount it. Most people don't want to deal with all of those headaches so they purchase a kit which has all that figured out for them.
