anyone using apexi N1 catback?

I just finished installing the apexi N1 exhaust on my 99' spec and it sounds damn horrible, can anyone else confirm its sounds weak and quiet when idling?

had the same exhaust on my s15 and sounded way better.

Well, yeah, it sounds like ****. A search here would have turned up lots of us saying that!

I don't understand how the idle could be weak and quiet....do you have the silencer installed or something?

I didn't like the N1 luckily my shop swapped it out for the GT no questions asked I am happier with it. One thing to check as well is did you just do the cat back or did you do the cat and replace the precat with a downpipe. Casuse if your still running the precat and the stock cat that will make a BIG difference

had the whole system changed, greddy downpipe, midpipe and apexi catback. I think ill change to another brand in the next few days, the quiet , weak sounding idling is pissing me right off >.<

Something is seriously amiss if that exhaust system sounds quiet at any rpm. It should be quite loud, even at idle.

I wasn't very happy with the sound so I switched to RB duals and I'm sad to say I wasn't impressed with the noise reduction.

I have the Apex N1, but I also have a HKS downpipe and a Midpipe and I think it sounds pretty good, I like how loud it is. I might just like it because it has the full 3" from turbo all the way back

I have JDM downpipe with no precat, a high flow cat, and a n1 single, is yours the Single or the Dual? mine is quite loud, maybe the rotary has a deeper growl at idle than a s15

yep, unresonated midpipe, it sounds alright pass 1.5k rpm. but sitting at 900rpm at the lights it just sounds weak and unhealthy. I remember my previous rx7 had a deep pulsing growl, the n1 sounds like a kitten compared
