Have you tried contacting Jason or someone else at the RX-7Store? I believe they were installing those units (mentioned in one of the threads).

Carson,

All is true.. Garfinkle's car is one amazing car.. I'm here in Nashville getting some stuff done by "the Garfinkles". I say Garfinkles because David and Jeremy does amazing work. I'll post my new stuff later on this weekend.

Also duboisr in NOT Garfinkle (if you are wondering).. I know this question was brought up before..

when hooking up the msd digital 6 on my car i couldnt simply "interrupt" the wires going to the coil. . . as others had told me. i had to go to the ignitor for a switch ignition source for the box to turn on. i did that by splicing into the dark wire in the middle of the connector that plugs into the ignitor. . . per david garfinkles advice, of course.

mine is currently in the hands of AEM, they are trying to figure out why it randomly cuts off and disables the car

it has a thermo switch or something that prevents overheating, glad they mention this in the manual

Honetly, in my experience, the AEM guys are pretty damn good with customer service. They offer products with enormous flexibility, and when they do fail they almost always gladly accept them and repair them free of charge. They help small shops become proficent in tuning their ECU's, they've got a great public forum where they openly hear out criticism. That's the sort of service that you almost never see from a company like that, and I've got nothing but respect for the guys at AEM, even if their products have bugs to work out sometimes when they're first released.

The aem can handle both leading and trailing coils right?
And what's the difference betw/ the 4 and 8 channel configurations?

Any update on this Jason?

Also, on your site you say it has rx7 specific instuctions. So those don't come with any of the other kits? I was looking around and there were a few sites that carried the 4 channel ones for $295 and free shipping.

The instruction PDF is on AEM's Forum as well, if you want to check out the instructions before purchase. And the Instruction book goes through every possible sparc combination, wasted, unwasted, direct fire, coil, distributer, V6, V8.... etc etc... it's quite comprehensive.

http://forum.aempower.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=5974

Page 13 Has rotary Instructions...

What would be nice, now is a writeup that illustrates the wire colors commonly found on FC / FD's for the Ignitor so we don't have to start testing with a multimeter... But I have yet to try and install mine... Too Much to do....
