It is cheaper than the HKS solution and fairly new.

Thanks,
Victor

I will be putting one on my car in the next week. It comes with rotary specific instructions. I will post the outcome.
If it works well its a good alternative to the HKS twin power which has become to expensive.

HKS period is over priced I think when most of there products are made in full by other companys or partial anyways

Garfinkle has had one installed for about a week now . He said the car idles better cold and the tip in was better . That is all I have heard .

r71 02-08-04 04:16 PM

With this unit, do you get rid of the stock igniter? Can this unit drive 4 coils? HKS is a amplifier. Is this the same thing?

VQracer 02-13-04 05:02 PM

anyone install it yet?

rotorbrain 02-13-04 05:38 PM

yes, it has been installed on david garfinkles car as mentioned earlier. . . its nice.

Hmm... its been a week, what've your experiences been thus far with it? I'm thinking about getting it for my setup pretty soon.

rotorbrain 02-20-04 03:12 PM

davids engine is out for some modifications. . . we wont know what its full potential is until his engine is back in and the car is tuned. itll be hard to tell what the difference is anyways. . . cause his car isnt like ANYONES on this forum. . .

Any word?

duboisr 03-18-04 04:24 AM

No word on Gars car . The AEM amp is resting under the mastercylinder on an alum bracket . The chrome is due back 3-19 as is some of the power coating . The light flywheel is being drilled around the outer edge to make it lighter . The polishing is almost done . The new SS fuel lines are not finished ( hard lines ) . The new battery cables with digital readout clamp are not finished ( welding cable ) . One cast 90 elbow to make a new hard pipe from the air box to the pri turbo is back ordered . ect,ect ect .

Sung, this can drive 4 or 8 coils. Steve actually recommended it over the HKS twin power to me (for the money).

Jason, I'd love to see some back to back dyno runs comparing it to stock system and the twin power on the same car. It would be a nice rx7store promo;)

TwinTriangles 03-18-04 07:27 PM

Yea Im having trouble figuring it out, Does it replace the stock igniter? if so or if not how do I know which wires on the igniter harness are which ?

duboisr 03-18-04 09:53 PM

It does not replace the stock igniter . The wires from the harness to the coils are attached to the AEM unit and then wires come from the AEM to the coils .I saw Davids drawing with the colors noted but that would be hard to remember for me . If dubulup wants to drive to murfreesboro to check out the work in progress I will pay his or her gas bill so I can say RIIIIIGHT. No need for me to make stuff up . So come on .

TwinTriangles 03-18-04 10:14 PM

Does anyone know where I can find a write up or better install instructions with pics, or know how to tell where the wires hook up to the the ignitor ?

TwinTriangles 03-18-04 10:34 PM

Well its got like 2 sets of wires, one set goes to the coils, the other looks like it goes to the igniter, but how do I know which wires are what on the igniter ?

duboisr 03-18-04 11:36 PM

Do you want Garfinkles phone no . He has it drawn out with color codes . The one set goes to the coils the other set goes to the wires that fead the coils . I can not explain this to well .

TwinTriangles 03-18-04 11:39 PM

I sent him an email, Maybe he can email me the drawing he has...?

duboisr 03-19-04 02:57 AM

I am sure he will help you . Emailing him would be easy if he had a computor . Good skill to you and good night .
